About

Market Harborough Honey Co. began as a passion project rooted in the heart of our family garden. It all started with a fascination for bees and the essential role they play in nature. While tending to our own small vegetable patch, we noticed the difference a few buzzing pollinators made to our plants, and a spark of curiosity took hold.

Our journey into beekeeping officially began with three modest hives tucked away in the corner of a field. Initially, these hives were a way to give back to nature and support local pollination. But as we nurtured our first colonies, the bees gifted us something in return: rich, golden honey that tasted unlike anything we had ever bought. Friends and neighbours began asking for a taste, and soon, our little hobby transformed into a small-scale production.

Driven by our commitment to quality and a love for sustainable, natural products, we decided to bring Market Harborough Honey Co. to life. We expanded thoughtfully, adding more hives in locations around the Market Harborough, ensuring every jar of honey captures the unique flavours of the local flora. Today, we’re proud to offer honey made with care from over 120 bee hives, still rooted in the values that started it all: respect for the bees, love for nature, and a desire to share the sweetness of our town with others.

Currently we are producing around 6500 jars of local honey per year in addition to holding back enough honey to go into our spirits, and aim to get this up to around 15,000 jars within the next couple of years and sell further afield.
